The simplest and most common budget profile. A straight, flat vane. Inexpensive and easy to source, but they can rattle and let more light leak at the edges.
Curved slats
A single gentle concave curve across the width. The curve stiffens the vane so it hangs straighter, resists warping in sunlight, and blocks light better where slats overlap.
S-shaped (S-curve) slats
An S-profile with two opposing curves. These nest into each other when closed for the best light blockout and a smooth, wave-like look when open. They're the premium PVC option and need carriers/stems sized for the profile.
Key point: an S-shaped headrail expects S-shaped vanes. Mixing profiles leaves gaps and uneven overlap, so replace like-for-like.
